Why are we in Sierra Leone?
God loves Africa and calls us to love it too - since Sierra Leone is one of the poorest countries in Africa with crushing physical and spiritual needs our hearts compel us to go and serve. We believe that by helping to develop systems that provide for life’s basic needs such as clean water, medical services and food we can help to move communities in Sierra Leone closer to what God intends for them. Showing the love of Christ in practical ways leads to opportunities to share about his kingdom, providing healing for the whole person, body, soul and spirit.
How do we do that?
Our strategy is to mobilize partnerships of peoples from North America, South America and Africa towards a movement of indigenous church planting, believing that the body of Christ in its local expression is the hope of the world.
We partner with like hearted organizations as well as churches in the U.S., Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Africa to carry out this work.
What do we do?
Our clean water initiatives are aimed at providing clean drinking water to those who are in need through small community water systems and manual borehole drilling. The clean water team is currently made up of 30 Sierra Leoneans who earn their living through providing water with some having become independent business people through the process. A life giving water well can be provided in a village for approximately $5000 usd. In addition we provide orphan care, medical care for the sick, agricultural assistance and train leaders in the principles of living in the Kingdom of God. In all we do, we strive to help people become mature in Christ, discipling and equipping them in order to become effective members, leaders and planters of churches.
