Feeding Children in Peru - Near one of the driest, inhabited regions of the world, is Tacna, Peru. On the outskirts of this southern Peruvian city, families are challenged to scrape together even the simplest existence. The staples of housing, clothing, and food are a struggle, and the children in particular struggle to obtain even the simplest dietary needs. The only way to describe this area of Tacna is extreme.

In Tacna, an IberoAmerican Ministries (IAM) Planted Church created a program to feed the children of this area both physically and spiritually. In addition to providing meals to these children, their program includes games, puppet shows, dancing, and teaching, all with the purpose of sharing the love and Good News of Jesus Christ. Focused on a group of about 100 children, the IAM Team offers the feeding program to these children, providing them with three meals per week. The rest of their week consists of very little additional food. 

It takes $1 a day to feed a child in this area of Tacna, and right now the program can support only 100 children for only one meal per week. We would love to see this program grow in both the number of meals served and the number of participants.
